I recently started playing in an APA 9-ball league. Not sure how I like the format. It doesn't really seem like 9-ball as much as it seems like a cross between 14.1 and rotation. Unlike 9-ball tournaments or money matches, winning games really doesn't mean anything.

For instance. Let's say an APA "1" plays an APA "9" (lowest rating vs. highest rating). The ball-count race is 75 to 14. Did you know that it's statistically possible for the "9" to win only two games of nine played and still win the match?

Don't get me wrong. I love 9-ball and I think the APA is a great organization. I just think they need to re-think how they approach the game of 9-ball.
